Maxi-Peel #1 for Acne Prone Skin (2-Week Review) )

Hi, this is my journey to a clearer skin.

This is based on my experience and I am not recommending anyone to just use it. What may work for me, may not work for you. I have been suffering from acne for almost a year now.

My friend gave me Maxi Peel 1 and Ponds cold cream which she bought from Seafood City, a Filipino store in San Jose California which is about 53 miles away from our house.

I have been suffering from acne since April of 2019. I started using Ryxskincerity. It worked cleared my skin for a bit but I still have breakouts here and there. I stopped using it just because I have been subconsciously scratching my face a lot. I'd wake up and I already have a scratch on my face.

So once I was done with my Ryxskincerity rejuvenating set, I gave my skin a break and just used regular moisturizer and safeguard.

I still have breakouts so I started using Murad. I scheduled a consultation with their specialist and they recommended products to me., I used it religiously but I was still breaking out. So when I ran out of my Murad Rapid Age Spot Lightening Serum (PM) ***Alternate nights with Retinol Youth Renewal Serum (PM). I did not buy anymore of it as I still have break outs.

I took a break again and after 2 weeks. I then started to use goodieco after seeing an add on facebook. Unfortunately, I got more breakouts, I felt like I was back from the start. It didn't look like it was purging because the more I use it, the more acne I got. So then I stopped again and used my left over Murad toner, Murad exfoliating cleanser, murad acne clarifying treatment and murad moisturizer with sunscreen.

I started using Led Theraphy light  and one day a week, I would use the  Aztec Secret – Indian Healing Clay 1 lb – Deep Pore Cleansing Facial & Body Mask – The Original 100% Natural Calcium Bentonite Clay . I feel like the led light and aztec was helping my face heal.

All these time, I was also taking pantothenic acid. I did not stop using it.

So there, my friend then gave me Maxi-Peel #1 which she bought from Seafood City in Milpitas, California.

I gave it a try but before that, I research a lot about using it. It is made from the Philippines, so I figured, why not. Based on what a lot of Filipinos who used Maxi Peel, I tried to avoid using anything with salicylic acid and too much direct sun exposure. I also tried to drink more water, eat more greens, and sleep earlier.

On the first few days, I felt it started to sting but I kind of got used to it and it does not really bother me at all. Everyday, I see results. Yay!!!!

These are routine for 2 weeks.

Morning Routine:

1. Wash my face either with dove green bar soap.

2. Pat it dry. Apply Murad Toner.

3. Let it dry. Apply eye cream and coconut oil on my lips.

4. Apply moisturizer with sunscreen.

If I am working, I apply make up. I know I shouldn't but If you have severe acne like I do and has to face people when you work, It is just so hard to face people without covering it.

I am still careful with what I put on my face now. Some of the safe acne prone skin products I used are the following:

1. Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup Foundation

2. For the face powder, I use Neutrogena Healthy Skin Pressed Makeup Powder Compact with Antioxidants & Pro Vitamin B5, Evens Skin Tone, Minimizes Shine & Conditions Skin

For my night time routine, this may sound too much for some, but this is what works for me right now.

1. I cleanse my face with cleansing oil. Then rinse it off with warm water.

2. Since I used make up, I want to make sure that my face is really clean, so I still use the Neutrogena gentle cleanser, and then rinse it off with warm water.

3. Then I use the ponds cleanser, as this will be the final cleansing before I use maxi-peel. I would apply it gently to my face.

4. Then I would wet the face cloth with warm water and then I gently wipe the Ponds Cold Cream  off my face. So with cleansing oil, and gentle cleanser, I still will get some make up off my face. I would change my cleaning cloth daily, I ordered a pack of 10 so I can change it daily. I like it because this one is really soft, and it doesn't hurt my skin.

5. I would let it dry for a little bit. Put on my Eye Cream  and lip balm or coconut oil to my lips.

6. I would then use Maxi-Peel Number 1. I put a few drops on a round cotton pad and just apply it gently on my face. I avoid my lips and my eye area.

7. I let it dry for a little bit before applying my Cetaphil Rich Hydrating Cream

Now, I am all done and ready for bed.

I'll do the same thing tomorrow again.

Something that I am challenging myself is to sleep earlier daily, keep drinking water, exercise or maybe walk every other day, eat more greens and avoid too much oily food like french fries (huhuhu :( my fave).

I will make another blog and 4 week review of using Maxi-peel. I will stay positive and I know that getting a clearer skin is achievable. I just need to do my best to taking care of myself.

Take care and thank you for reading my blog.

Covid-19 What have you done?

The county has been on Shelter-in-place since March 18 and school closure started last March 16, 2020. I just got an email from the school district that they are extending the school closure until May 1st which may or may not be extended depending on what is going on with the corona virus crisis.
These are the challenges that I as a parent is facing because of this:
1. School closure- This means that as a Sub-Teacher in the district, there will be no available jobs for me. They already cancelled my accepted jobs as they don't really need my services.
2. No childcare- Since school is closed, Childcare is needed for me to be able to work but it isn't smart to find childcare when we are on shelter-in-place. It would be endangering the health of my child and my family and the family of those who would be doing child care.
3. Unemployment- School closure and childcare would mean not having any available jobs. This is when I decided to try applying for unemployment.
4. Shopping- It is not advised to go to crowded places with kids at this time. They can get sick. So my solution one day was to ask a friend to watch my kid at the parking lot. So my friend stayed in her car and parked by my car. My daughter stayed in my car while my friend also stayed in her car. She was able to watch my daughter as pick up my groceries from Target. In that way, I didn't have to bring my daughter inside Target and I was still able to pick up my groceries. Thank you my friend Louise.
5. Free breakfast and lunch-We have been so lucky to receive free breakfast and lunch daily for my child. We needed to pick up the food daily from 10 to 1 pm. In April, they said they will be changing it which means we will have to pick up the food for the week every Mondays from 10 am to 1 pm. It is really great since I can't really go shopping and I am jobless.
Here are some of the free breakfast and lunches we picked up from the nearest school.

My daughter loved picking these up because that's the only time we will go outside for now. She would also immediately eat some of it as soon as we go home. It helps save money at this time of crisis.

6. Crisis Review- The only thing that isn't a challenge for me is teaching my own child. I love helping my kid learn and being able to teach her at this time of crisis. The teaching experience does help and there are also lots of resources online. You can join fb group that is dedicated to Parents that are new to homeschooling like Now that you're a Homeschool Teacher or The Learning Teacher Page and many more.
One more thing, our kids don't need so many hours of studying. 2 hours a day is enough as there are so many life skills that we can teach them at home.
With all the said challenges I am facing at home, I know some of you can relate, I hope that we all just stay positive and follow the government's order of staying at home as much as possible. We need to be safe for our love ones.
As of today, March 26, 2020, There are already 14 confirmed cases at San Benito County. So please, let us all Be Patient, Be Kind, Be Safe and Stay Home.

Here is the Corona Virus count in the US.

Let's help each other stay away from Covid-19.
Stay Safe and do what we can to stay Home.
